All professionals undergo a transformation that makes them more competent in their roles. This transformation is called career development, which involves choosing a career path and improving relevant skills along the way.

Employees seeking growth can take career opportunities offered by their employers, like basic training and promotions. But lack of time and skill gaps, among other hurdles, have kept firms from introducing growth opportunities and career development programs.

Since career development is something we care deeply about at Sprout, we want to help companies struggling with these challenges. That’s why we’ve compiled our findings in a handy e-book, and we’re giving you a sneak peek.

Why Does Career Development Matter?

Offering career development opportunities come with these benefits:

  • Employees better understand their career paths. The new normal has made individuals consider what a successful career means for them and how to achieve it. A career development program helps employees answer these questions and adapt to an ever-evolving world of work.
  • Growth opportunities help attract talent. Firms that support professional growth are a hit among job seekers. Companies show that they welcome and value immensely driven individuals through career development opportunities.
  • Career development means better employee performance. Career development allows employees to gain vital skills, achieve better outcomes, and drive organizational growth.
  • Organizations observe higher employee engagement and job satisfaction levels. Employees taking growth opportunities feel more connected and happier with their work.
  • Career development is key to retention. The Great Resignation is still in full swing, making retention strategies more crucial than ever. Providing employees with career development opportunities ensures that they stay longer.

Implementing the Program & Evaluating Performance
