In the Philippines, your PhilHealth ID is more than just a card; it gives you access to affordable healthcare services. Whether you’re a first-time employee, a freelancer, a self-employed professional, or an HR officer handling government registrations, having a valid PhilHealth ID means you can easily access health benefits when you need them most.
Let’s walk you through the latest procedures for getting your PhilHealth ID, whether you’re registering for the first time, requesting a physical ID, or replacing a lost one.
Before diving into the steps, here’s a quick reminder of why this little card matters:
There are two main ways to get your PhilHealth ID:
We’ll cover both processes below: online and offline.

Tip: Use a professional-sounding email address and keep an eye on your inbox for updates.
Once you receive your PIN, proceed to a PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) to request your Member Data Record (MDR) and PhilHealth ID.
Note: This ID is free and enough for most transactions. If you want a PVC-type ID, you need to pay a small fee.
If you’re already a PhilHealth member (with a PIN), but don’t have a physical ID, or lost your existing one, here’s what to do:
Optional: If you need a PVC-type ID, inquire if the branch offers it—fees may range from 90 to 150 PHP depending on the location.

As of now, PhilHealth does not issue physical IDs online. Online registration is available, but you still need to personally visit a branch to get your paper or PVC card.
Some HR departments issue PhilHealth numbers only as part of onboarding, but employees must follow through to get their ID.
You can visit any PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) nationwide. Here’s how to find one:
As an HR professional, managing PhilHealth registrations, contributions, and ID tracking can be time-consuming and prone to errors, especially with ever-changing regulations. Sprout Payroll helps by automatically calculating the correct PhilHealth premiums, processing deductions from salaries, and preparing government reports based on the latest 2026 PhilHealth rules.

To get a PhilHealth ID, register online via the PhilHealth portal to get your PIN, then visit your nearest PhilHealth office to request your physical ID. Bring a valid ID and your PIN, and fill out the request form to receive your card. Learn more about getting a PhilHealth ID in the Philippines.
Not legally, but most hospitals, clinics, and employers require it to process benefits and employment documents.
No, you must claim your PhilHealth ID in person.
Visit a branch to merge your records and avoid delays when claiming benefits.
