The Sprout Awards 2023: Honoring Employers with Outstanding Workplace Practices

Find out which companies won big at this year’s Sprout Awards. Learn more about our annual search for great employers on our blog.

It is imperative that today’s workers find a work environment where they are valued and recognized for their contributions. Cultivating an environment that is conducive to this helps your organization retain top talent and achieve its business goals.

As a way to encourage more companies to adopt these practices, Sprout Solutions, the Philippines’ leading B2B SaaS provider, has recognized local companies that prioritize their employees through best HR practices.

Besides certificates for businesses promoting professional growthholistic employee health, and financial wellness, we acknowledged and honored great employers at the recent Sprout Awards.

A Closer Look at the Sprout Awards

Sprout Awards are awarded to companies that excel at promoting a positive work environment, boosting employee engagement, and inspiring visionary excellence. They can win one of three awards: Best Workplace Culture, Visionary Excellence Victor, and Employee Engagement Champion.

Eligible employers nominated themselves for each award from May 18 to 30, 2023. Then, we encouraged them to create and roll out pulse surveys from June 5 to 15, 2023. Employees under our partners ranked how they feel about their workplaces on a scale of 1 to 5 in these surveys, and we used this data to find the best of the best.

The surveys are powered by Sprout’s Pulse, a tool that gathers, measures, and analyzes powerful data for the improvement of employee engagement in the workplace.

After careful deliberation, we chose one SME (small and medium enterprise), one mid-market company, and one enterprise for each Sprout Award. We presented nine awardees during our State of HR Summit last June 22, 2023, at the New World Hotel in Makati.

Why Did We Hold the Sprout Awards?

We held the Sprout Awards to:

  • Recognize employers with people-first organizational practices.
  • Reward our clients for creating and maintaining positive work environments.
  • Get our partners excited about Sprout’s upcoming initiatives toward more streamlined employee management.
  • Encourage other employers to take note of and adopt all awardees’ best practices.
  • Emphasize our North Star of impacting every Filipino’s life by improving business operations.

Coming Out on Top: Meet Our Awardees

Our latest State of HR Summit became an opportunity to celebrate employers who exceeded expectations in managing their employees. Let’s take a look at the awards we gave out and their recipients.

The Best Workplace Culture Award for Positive Work Environments

This award acknowledges organizations where mutual respect, value, happiness, and inspiration thrive among team members.

Regular check-ins, positive encouragement, constructive criticism, fun team activities, and abundant opportunities for interaction help these employers foster strong working relationships and make everyone feel they’re truly part of the company.

For 2023, we gave the Best Workplace Culture award to:

Visionary Excellence Victor: Envisioning a Brighter Organizational Future

The Visionary Excellence Victor Award recognizes organizations whose employees feel positive about the organization’s future, so much so that they choose to stay because they feel inspired.

Organizations like these make employees feel hopeful about their success and align them with the company’s vision. In turn, team members become motivated and committed to helping the business succeed.

Visionary Excellence Victors were awarded to the following:

  • The Dragon Edge Group (SME)
  • House of Branded Lifestyle Incorporated (mid-market)
  • UBX Philippines (enterprise)

Employee Engagement Champion: Keeping Team Members Engaged

Finally, our Employee Engagement Champions prioritize employee happiness, engagement, and growth through work environments where people feel valued, supported, and motivated. They do so by:

  • Aligning personal values with the company’s vision
  • Offering career development opportunities to employees
  • Maintaining work-life balance
  • Offering fair compensation
  • Promoting employee well-being and satisfaction through a positive company culture

This year’s Employee Engagement Champion award went to:

  • Apotheca Corporation (SME)
  • Starpay Corporation (mid-market)
  • PSO Manila (enterprise)

The Benefits of Winning at the Sprout Awards

All awardees received a physical plaque for their achievements during the on-site ceremony. However, it’s only one of several rewards these organizations got from winning at the Sprout Awards.

First, we gave our awardees a three-month subscription to Pulse Premium, letting them access all valuable insights and tools. Winning clients using Pulse’s free version got a free upgrade, while those without the tool received a complimentary three-month subscription.

Other benefits included opportunities to speak at our upcoming virtual and in-person events this 2023 and features on our social media channels and newsletter. But most importantly, the winners are inspiring other organizations to excel and build positive work environments.
