Tax Identification Number (TIN)

A system-generated reference index number that the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to every individual registered in its database. Each TIN contains nine to 12 digits. According to Section 236 (I) of the National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC), the BIR must issue or assign a TIN to every taxpayer.
