#ProjectSEED: Sprout's Corporate Social Responsibility
For 6 years, Sprout Solutions has always lived by our North Star to impact the life of every Filipino by improving businesses in the Philippines. But more than just businesses, Sprout and our Rockstars have made it a mission to do our part to help improve lives in the country.
#ProjectSEED or Supporting Environment, Education, & Diversity is Sprout's annual Corporate Social Responsibility program and initiative. It is the Sproutlings’ way of giving back to the community by sharing Sprout's core values. Year after year, #ProjectSEED has allowed our Rockstars to “Give Back & Make an Impact.”
This 2021, even through the restrictions of quarantine, #ProjectSEED continues to make a difference in the lives of Filipinos. Every quarter, the different divisions of Sprout choose an advocacy or organization to support. In this feature, we wanted to show everyone how #ProjectSEED has powered through with COVID-safe corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Quarter 1 : Headed by the Operations Division
The COVID-19 pandemic had an undeniable impact on all aspects of the education sectors. To reduce the spread of the virus at the same time keeping the continuity in education, the government decided to implement distance learning programs or online education. A lot of Filipino students have little to no access to resources or materials for distance learning.
Sprout’s #ProjectSEED for the 1st Quarter headed by the Operations Division launched a Donation Drive to help students who were in need of resources and supplies - specifically the children of MovEd.
MovEd is a non-stock, non-profit organization that aims to bring early childhood care and development programs to children and their families in underserved communities in the Philippines through multi-faceted MovEd programs like MovEd Learning Lab, Move Family Care Center, and Move Health. Since their launch in 2012, MovEd has reached over 4000+ children and families and helped 2, 972 graduates as of S.Y. 19-20.
With the rise of COVID-19 cases and the suspension of face-to-face classes, MovEd, just like any other organization, had to adjust to better serve their communities and adapt to the needs of their students, and prioritize the safety of all. MovEd’s Learning Lab adapted the distance modular learning program.
Sprout’s #ProjectSEED donation was used to fund school kits for the MovEd students in Learning Labs in the National Capital Region. These school kits will be divided among five MovEd Learning Labs in NCR and will be distributed for School Year 2021-2022.
